I am proud to say that I have made the switch to Biodiesel in my G-Wagen! I am now trying to run exclusively on B20 readily available at

select Rotten Robbie’s stations. I know it’s not perfect since it is still 80% petrol diesel but it is a start. I want to make the switch to full B100 but it is hard to get conveniently out near Livermore. I may have to work on getting home delivery of some B100 to make the full switch.

Well, we are finally getting closer on the road abandonment, the small victory that seemingly will take forever to achieve. I have been told by the county that we are on the Santa Clara County board agenda for November 13th!!! Only 6 months after the initial purchase of the land!

No I just have to cross my fingers and hope nothing derails this date somehow……

Well, I promised an update if there was progress and so here it is.  We got clearance (sort of) to move the abandonment to the other end of the neighbor’s property (see prior post).  The reason I say sort of on the approval is that we now will require a variance to the county setback requirement of at least 30′ from a right of way.  Of course this “right of way” is after the effective end of the road and therefore will not ever be a true right of way.  Again, needless red tape that causes issues.  In terms of the road abandonment itself, it will now be going to the board for approval on October 16th at the earliest.  This approval would at least give us one small victory and then we can work on the site approval in November.
